Research Trials

OPUS Study- A surgical study for women with vaginal prolapse (sensation of bulging or protrusion from the vaginal area) without symptoms of stress urinary incontinence.

OPTIMAL Study-  A surgical study for women with vaginal prolapse (sensation of bulging or protrusion from the vaginal area) who have symptoms of stress incontinence.  Comparisons of adding Behavioral therapy (including pelvic muscle exercises) or not will be evaluated.

DRIVE Study- A study for menopausal women 40 and older comparing two approved medications for the treatment of urinary urgency, frequency, nighttime urination or urine leakage with a feeling of urgency. Medication is provided at no charge for 1 year. Compensation also provided.

ABBI Study -  A questionnaire only study for women with a primary complaint of fecal incontinence for at least three consecutive months. The primary aim is to describe the adaptive behaviors that they use to deal with their fecal incontinence.

LIFE SPACE ASSESSMENT - For women age 65 or older who are having problems with uncontrolled urinary leakage and seek non-surgical treatment. The research study investigates how this problem affects the ability to interact in the community. Questionnaires. Compensation is provided.
