Vascular Surgery at UAB emphasizes the leading edge of treatment of vascular conditions which includes new minimal surgical approaches to treatment of aneurysms, blood clotting and blocked arteries. Our vascular surgery and endovascular therapy staff specialize in the treatment of:

After-Hours Emergencies
If you are a patient and need to reach your physician after hours, call UAB paging at (205) 934-3411 and ask for the Vascular Surgery Resident on call. If this is a true medical emergency, please dial 911 for immediate assistance.
What to Bring with You
When you come to your appointment, please bring your insurance card, the completed patient information sheet that was mailed to you prior to your appointment, a list of any prescription or over-the-counter medications that you are currently taking (including dosage amount), and any pertinent medical information/medical records related to your condition. These records include:
- Reports from any previous vascular tests
- Reports of any labs that have been previously performed
- Any films from diagnostic tests that have been performed, including X-rays, CT scans or ultrasounds
Having this information provides a comprehensive picture to your physician, resulting in more complete and timely care for you. If you prefer, you may have the records and films forwarded to our office by your referring physician prior to your visit. Payment Information
Some insurance providers may require a referral or pre-certification before seeing a vascular specialist. Please be sure to bring a copy of this referral or pre-certification with you for insurance/billing purposes. If you are unsure of what your insurance coverage requires, please contact your insurance in advance of your appointment for your inquiries. Your co-pay is expected at the time of your visit. Financial counselors are available to discuss any problems or special circumstances, and can be contacted Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at (205) 801-9910.
