Pediatric Cardiology provides medical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in children and adolescents. It serves as the diagnostic unit for the noted Alabama Congenital Heart Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center and provides cardiac catheterizations, cineangiography, electrocardiograms, continuous monitoring of the hearts's electrical activity and exercise testing.

The division's main outpatient clinic area, including echocardiographic facilities and a catheterization lab is located in UAB Hospital. Additional clinics are held at Children's Hospital and in Tuscaloosa and Montgomery.

In conjunction with Cardiothoracic Surgery, inpatient services include a 33-bed unit at UAB Hospital especially designed for the care of young people with heart disease.

Alabama Congenital Heart Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center
The center provides research and patient care through the UAB Health System. Its research is aimed at improving and simplifying the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease. It has a special interest in improving the quality of life for children born with congenital heart disease.
