MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging Service

The diagnosis of heart disease has been made safer and easier with the development of a technique that provides a wealth of information without the need for catheterization. MRI testing gives cardiologists the information they need to diagnose a vast array of diseases affecting the heart and blood vessels, including coronary artery disease.

UAB has one of the few dedicated cardiovascular MRI facilities in use today. This facility demonstrates the enormous value of high technology in a medical environment. Many powerful computers are used to create like images.
